  1. 小美人鱼-英文剧本
  2. ----------------------
  3. (An ocean. Birds are flying and porpoises are swimming happily.
  4. From the fog a ship appears crashing through the waves)
  5. Sailors: I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
  6. And it's hey to the starboard, heave ho
  7. Look out, lad, a mermaid be waitin' for you
  8. In mysterious fathoms below.
  9. Eric: Isn't this great? The salty sea air, the wind blowing in your face . . .
  10. a perfect day to be at sea!
  11. Grimsby: (Leaning over side.) Oh yes . . . delightful . . . .
  12. Sailor 1: A fine strong wind and a following sea. King Triton must be in a
  13. friendly-type mood.
  14. Eric: King Triton?
  15. Sailor 2: Why, ruler of the merpeople, lad. Thought every good sailor knew
  16. about him.
  17. Grimsby: Merpeople! Eric, pay no attention to this nautical nonsense.
  18. Sailor 2: But it ain't nonsense, it's the truth! I'm tellin' you, down in the
  19. depths o' the ocean they live. (He gestures wildly, Fish in his hand flops
  20. away and lands back in the ocean, relieved.)
  21. Sailors: Heave. ho. Heave, ho. In mysterious fathoms below. (Fish sighs and
  22. swims away.)
  23. (Titles. Various fish swimming. Merpeople converge on a great undersea
  24. palace, filling concert hall inside. Fanfare ensues.)
  25. Seahorse: Ahem . . . His royal highness, King Triton! (Triton enters
  26. dramatically to wild cheering.) And presenting the distinguished court
  27. composer, Horatio Thelonious Ignatius Crustaceous Sebastian! (Sebastian
  28. enters to mild applause.)
  29. Triton: I'm really looking forward to this performance, Sebastian.
  30. Sebastian: Oh, Your Majesty, this will be the finest concert I have ever con-
  31. ducted. Your daughters - they will be spectacular!
  32. Triton: Yes, and especially my little Ariel.
  33. Sebastian: Yes, yes, she has the most beautiful voice. . . . [sotto] If only
  34. she'd show up for rehearsals once in a while. . . . (He proceeds to podium
  35. and begins to direct orchestra.)
  36. Triton's daughters: Ah, we are the daughters of Triton.
  37. Great father who loves us and named us well:
  38. Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, Allana.
  39. And then there is the youngest in her musical debut,
  40. Our seventh little sister, we're presenting her to you,
  41. To sing a song Sebastian wrote, her voice is like a bell,
  42. She's our sister, Ar-i . . .
  43. (Shell opens to reveal that Ariel is absent.)
  44. Triton: (Very angry.) Ariel!!
  45. (Cut to Ariel looking at sunken ship.)
  46. Flounder: (From distance.) Ariel, wait for me . . .
  47. Ariel: Flounder, hurry up!
  48. Flounder: (Catching up.) You know I can't swim that fast.
  49. Ariel: There it is. Isn't it fantastic?
  50. Flounder: Yeah . . . sure . . . it - it's great. Now let's get outta here.
  51. Ariel: You're not getting cold fins now, are you?
  52. Flounder: Who, me? No way. It's just, it, err . . . it looks - damp in there.
  53. Yeah. And I think I may be coming down with something. Yeah, I got this
  54. cough. (Flounder coughs unconvincingly)
  55. Ariel: All right. I'm going inside. You can just stay here and - watch for
  56. sharks. (She goes inside.)
  57. Flounder: O.K. Yeah - you go. I'll stay and - what? Sharks! Ariel!
  58. (He tries to fit through porthole.) Ariel . . . I can't . . . I mean-
  59. Ariel help!
  60. Ariel: (Laughs.) Oh, Flounder.
  61. Flounder: (Wispering.)Ariel, do you really think there might be sharks around
  62. here? (Shark passes outside.)
  63. Ariel: Flounder, don't be such a guppy.
  64. Flounder: I'm not a guppy. (Gets pulled through porthole.)This is great - I
  65. mean, I really love this. Excitement, adventure, danger lurking around
  66. every corn- YAAAAHHHHHHHH!! Ariel!! (He sees a skull, crashes into pillar
  67. causing cave in, and swims frantically away, knocking over Ariel.)
  68. Ariel: Oh, are you okay?
  69. Flounder: Yeah sure, no problem, I'm okay . . .
  70. Ariel: Shhh . . . (Seeing a fork.) Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Have you ever
  71. seen anything so wonderful in your entire life?
  72. Flounder: Wow, cool! But, err, what is it?
  73. Ariel: I don't know. But I bet Scuttle will.
  74. (Puts fork in bag. Skark swims by outside.)
  75. Flounder: What was that? Did you hear something?
  76. Ariel: (Distracted by pipe.) Hmm, I wonder what this one is?
  77. Flounder: Ariel . .
  78. Ariel: Flounder, will you relax. Nothing is going to happen.
  79. Flounder: (Seeing Shark looming behind him.) AAHHHH!! Run!! Run!! We're
  80. gonna die!! (Shark chases them all around. Ariel's bag is hung up. She
  81. goes back for it. Shark almost gets them. They head for porthole.) Oh No!!
  82. (They crash through and go round and round. Flounder gets knocked silly
  83. but Ariel saves him and traps Shark) You big bully. THBBBTTTT . . .
  84. (Shark snaps at him and he swims away.)
  85. Ariel: (Laughing.) Flounder, you really are a guppy.
  86. Flounder: I am not.
  87. (On surface. Scuttle on his island humming and looking through his
  88. telescope.)
  89. Ariel: Scuttle!
  90. Scuttle: (Looking through the telescope the wrong way, shouting.) Whoa!
  91. Mermaid off the port bow! Ariel, how you doin' kid? (Lowers telescope to
  92. reveal Ariel at wing's length.) Whoa, what a swim!
  93. Ariel: Scuttle - look what we found.
  94. Flounder: Yeah - we were in this sunken ship - it was really creepy.
  95. Scuttle: Human stuff, huh? Hey, lemme see. (Picks up fork.) Look at this.
  96. Wow - this is special - this is very, very unusual.
  97. Ariel: What? What is it?
  98. Scuttle: It's a dinglehopper! Humans use these little babies . . . to
  99. straighten their hair out. See - just a little twirl here an' a yank
  100. there and - voiolay! You got an aesthetically pleasing configuration
  101. of hair that humans go nuts over!
  102. Ariel: A dinglehopper!
  103. Flounder: What about that one?
  104. Scuttle: (Holding pipe) Ah - this I haven't seen in years. This is wonderful!
  105. A banded, bulbous - snarfblat.
  106. Ariel and Flounder: Oohhh.
  107. Scuttle: Now, the snarfblat dates back to prehistorical times, when humans used
  108. to sit around, and stare at each other all day. Got very boring. So, they
  109. invented the snarfblat to make fine music. Allow me.
  110. (Scuttle blows into the pipe; seaweed pops out the other end.)
  111. Ariel: Music? Oh, the concert! Oh my gosh, my father's gonna kill me!
  112. Flounder: The concert was today?
  113. Scuttle: (Still contemplating pipe.) Maybe you could make a little planter
  114. out of it or somethin'.
  115. Ariel: Uh, I'm sorry, I've gotta go. Thank you Scuttle. (Waves.)
  116. Scuttle: Anytime sweetie, anytime.
  117. (Cut to Flotsam and Jetsam, then Ursula in background watching magic
  118. projection of Ariel swimming.)
  119. Ursula: Yeeeeeees, hurry home, princess. We wouldn't want to miss old daddy's
  120. celebration, now, would we? Huh! Celebration indeed. Bah! In MY day, we
  121. had fantastical feasts when I lived in the palace. And now, look at me -
  122. wasted away to practically nothing - banished and exiled and practically
  123. starving, while he and his flimsy fish-folk celebrate. Well, I'll give 'em
  124. something to celebrate soon enough. Flotsam! Jetsam! I want you to keep an
  125. extra close watch on this pretty little daughter of his. She may be the key
  126. to Triton's undoing. . . .
  127. (Fade to the palace throne room where Ariel is being admonished.)
  128. Triton: I just don't know what we're going to do with you, young lady.
  129. Ariel: Daddy, I'm sorry, I just forgot, I -
  130. Triton: As a result of your careless behaviour -
  131. Sebastian: Careless and reckless behaviour!
  132. Triton: - the entire celebration was, er -
  133. Sebastian: Well, it was ruined! That's all. Completely destroyed! This
  134. concert was to be the pinnacle of my distinguished career. Now thanks to
  135. you I am the laughing stock of the entire kingdom!
  136. Flounder: But it wasn't her fault! Ah - well - first, ahh, this shark chased us
  137. - yeah - yeah! And we tried to - but we couldn't - and - grrrrrrrrr - and -
  138. and we - whoooaaaaaa - oh, and then we were safe. But then this seagull came,
  139. and it was this is this, and that is that, and -
  140. Triton: Seagull? What? Oh - you went up to the surface again, didn't you?
  141. DIDN'T YOU?
  142. Ariel: Nothing - happened. . . .
  143. Triton: Oh, Ariel, How many times must we go through this? You could've been
  144. seen by one of those barbarians - by - by one of those humans!
  145. Ariel: Daddy, they're not barbarians!
  146. Triton: They're dangerous. Do you think I want to see my youngest daughter
  147. snared by some fish-eater's hook?
  148. Ariel: I'm sixteen years old - I'm not a child anymore -
  149. Triton: Don't you take that tone of voice with me young lady. As long as you
  150. live under my ocean, you'll obey my rules!
  151. Ariel: But if you would just listen -
  152. Triton: Not another word - and I am never, NEVER to hear of you going to the
  153. surface again. Is that clear? (Ariel leaves, crying.)
  154. Sebastian: Hm! Teenagers. . . . They think they know everything. You give
  155. them an inch, they swim all over you.
  156. Triton: Do you, er, think I - I was too hard on her?
  157. Sebastian: Definitely not. Why, if Ariel was my daughter, I'd show her who was
  158. boss. None of this "flitting to the surface" and other such nonsense. No,
  159. sir - I'd keep her under tight control.
  160. Triton: You're absolutely right, Sebastian.
  161. Sebastian: Of course.
  162. Triton: Ariel needs constant supervision.
  163. Sebastian: Constant.
  164. Triton: Someone to watch over her - to keep her out of trouble.
  165. Sebastian: All the time -
  166. Triton: And YOU are just the crab to do it.
  167. (Cut to Sebastian walking down corridor.)
  168. Sebastian: How do I get myself into these situations? I should be writing
  169. symphonies - not tagging along after some headstrong teenager. (Sees Ariel
  170. and Flounder sneaking off and follows.) Hmm? What is that girl up to? (He
  171. barely makes it into cave and sees Ariel's collection.) Huh?
  172. Flounder: Ariel, are you okay?
  173. Ariel: If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he
  174. does. I don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things - could be
  175. bad.
  176. Look at this stuff
  177. Isn't it neat?
  178. Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
  179. Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
  180. The girl who has ev'rything?
  181. Look at this trove
  182. Treasures untold
  183. How many wonders can one cavern hold?
  184. Lookin' around here you'd think
  185. Sure, she's got everything
  186. I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty
  187. I've got whozits and whatzits galore
  188. (You want thingamabobs?
  189. I got twenty)
  190. But who cares?
  191. No big deal
  192. I want more
  193. I wanna be where the people are
  194. I wanna see
  195. Wanna see 'em dancin'
  196. Walkin' around on those
  197. (Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - feet
  198. Flippin' your fins you don't get too far
  199. Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
  200. Strollin' along down a
  201. (What's that word again?) street
  202. Up where they walk
  203. Up where they run
  204. Up where they stay all day in the sun
  205. Wanderin' free
  206. Wish I could be
  207. Part of that world
  208. What would I give
  209. If I could live
  210. Outta these waters?
  211. What would I pay
  212. To spend a day
  213. Warm on the sand?
  214. Betcha on land
  215. They understand
  216. Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
  217. Bright young women
  218. Sick o' swimmin'
  219. Ready to stand
  220. And ready to know what the people know
  221. Ask 'em my questions
  222. And get some answers
  223. What's a fire and why does it
  224. (What's the word?) burn?
  225. When's it my turn?
  226. Wouldn't I love
  227. Love to explore that shore above?
  228. Out of the sea
  229. Wish I could be
  230. Part of that world
  231. (Sebastian has been struggling around and now comes crashing down making
  232. a lot of noise.)
  233. Ariel: Sebastian!?
  234. Sebastian: Ariel - what, are you mad? How could you - what is all this?
  235. Ariel: It, err, it's just my - collection. . . .
  236. Sebastian: Oh. I see. Your collection. Hmmm. IF YOUR FATHER KNEW ABOUT THIS
  237. PLACE HE'D -
  238. Flounder: You're not gonna tell him, are you?
  239. Ariel: Oh, please, Sebastian, he would never understand.
  240. Sebastian: Ariel. You're under a lot of pressure down here. Come with me,
  241. I'll take you home and get you something warm to drink. (A ship passes by
  242. overhead.)
  243. Ariel: What do you suppose?. . .
  244. Sebastian: Ariel? Ariel!
  245. (On surface. Fireworks in the sky around ship. Ariel looks on,
  246. amazed. Sebastian and Flounder arrive.)
  247. Sebastian: Ariel, what - what are you- jumpin' jellyfish! Ariel, Ariel!
  248. Please come back! (Ariel swims to ship and watches party until Max finds
  249. her.)
  250. Eric: (Whistles.) Max, here boy. Hey, come on, mutt, whatcha doing, huh
  251. Max? Good boy. (Ariel sees him and is stricken.)
  252. Scuttle: Hey there, sweetie! Quite a show, eh?
  253. Ariel: Scuttle, be quiet! They'll hear you.
  254. Scuttle: Oooh, I gotcha, I gotcha. We're being intrepidatious. WE'RE OUT TO
  255. DISCOVER! (Ariel grabs his beak.)
  256. Ariel: I've never seen a human this close before. Oh - he's very handsome,
  257. isn't he?
  258. Scuttle: (Looking at Max) I dunno, he looks kinda hairy and slobbery to me.
  259. Ariel: Not that one - the one playing the snarfblat.
  260. Grimsby: Silence! Silence! It is now my honour and privilege to present our
  261. esteemed Prince Eric with a very special, very expensive, very large birthday
  262. present.
  263. Eric: Ah, Grimsby - y'old beanpole, you shouldn't have.
  264. Grimsby: I know. Happy birthday, Eric! (Large, gaudy statue of Eric is
  265. revealed. Max growls.)
  266. Eric: Gee, Grim. It's, err, it's, err - it's really somethin'. . . .
  267. Grimsby: Yes, I commissioned it myself. Of course, I had hoped it would be a
  268. wedding present, but . . .
  269. Eric: Come on, Grim, don't start. Look, you're not still sore because I didn't
  270. fall for the princess of Glauerhaven, are you?
  271. Grimsby: Oh, Eric, it isn't me alone. The entire kingdom wants to see you
  272. happily settled down with the right girl.
  273. Eric: Well, she's out there somewhere. I just - I just haven't found her yet.
  274. Grimsby: Well, perhaps you haven't been looking hard enough.
  275. Eric: Believe me, Grim, when I find her I'll know - without a doubt. It'll
  276. just - bam! - hit me - like lightning. (Lightning and thunder appear and the
  277. sky grows dark.)
  278. Sailor: Hurricane a'commin'!! Stand fast! Secure the riggin'! (Storm hits.)
  279. Scuttle: Whoa! The wind's all of a sudden on the move here. (He is blown
  280. away.) Oh! Ariel . . . (Ship crashes through storm. Lightning starts a fire.
  281. A rock looms ahead.)
  282. Eric: Look out! . . . (Ship crashes and all are thrown overboard except Max.)
  283. Grim, hang on! (Sees Max.) Max! (Goes back to save him.) Jump Max! Come
  284. on boy, jump! You can do it Max. (He saves Max but is trapped on board.)
  285. Grimsby: ERIC! (Ship explodes. Ariel finds Eric near drowning and pulls him
  286. away.)
  287. (On beach. Ariel is sitting next to an unconscious Eric.)
  288. Ariel: Is he - dead?
  289. Scuttle: (Opens Eric's eyelid.) It's hard to say. (Puts his ear against Eric's
  290. foot.) Oh, I - I can't make out a heartbeat.
  291. Ariel: No, look! He's breathing. He's so, beautiful.
  292. What would I give
  293. To live where you are?
  294. What would I pay
  295. To stay here beside you?
  296. What would I do to see you
  297. Smiling at me?
  298. Where would we walk?
  299. Where would we run?
  300. If we could stay all day in the sun?
  301. Just you and me
  302. And I could be
  303. Part of your world
  304. (Sebastian and Flounder have washed up and are watching scene. Max and
  305. Grimsby approach. Ariel hurries away.)
  306. Grimsby: Eric! Oh, Eric. You really delight in these sadistic strains on my
  307. blood pressure, don't you?
  308. Eric: A girl - rescued me. . . . She was - singing . . . she had the most -
  309. beautiful voice.
  310. Grimsby: Ah, Eric, I think you've swallowed a bit too much seawater. Off we
  311. go. Come on, Max.
  312. Sebastian: We just gotta forget this whole thing ever happened. The sea king
  313. will never know. You won't tell him, I won't tell him. I will stay in one
  314. piece.
  315. Ariel:
  316. I don't know when
  317. I don't know how
  318. But I know something's starting right now
  319. Watch and you'll see
  320. Some day I'll be
  321. Part of your world
  322. (Flotsam and Jetsam appear. Fade to Ursula watching from her chamber.)
  323. Ursula: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. I can't stand it - it's too easy. The
  324. child is in love with a human. And not just any human - a prince! Her
  325. daddy'll LOVE that. King Triton's headstrong, lovesick girl would make a
  326. charming addition to my little garden.
  327. (Fade to palace. Then sister's dressing room.)
  328. Andrina: Ariel, dear, time to come out. You've been in there all morning.
  329. (Ariel emerges, singing to herself.)
  330. Atina: What is with her lately?
  331. Ariel: Morning, Daddy. (Ariel swims off.)
  332. Atina: Oh, she's got it bad.
  333. Triton: What? What has she got?
  334. Andrina: Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Ariel's in love.
  335. Triton: Ariel? In love?
  336. (Cut to Sebastian pacing on rock outside.)
  337. Sebastian: O.K. So far, so good. I don't think the king knows. But it will not
  338. be easy keeping something like this a secret for long.
  339. Ariel: (Picking petals off a flower) He loves me . . . hmmm, he loves me
  340. not. . . . He loves me! I knew it!
  341. Sebastian: Ariel, stop talking crazy.
  342. Ariel: I gotta see him again - tonight! Scuttle knows where he lives.
  343. Sebastian: Ariel - please. Will you get your head out of the clouds and back
  344. in the water where it belongs?
  345. Ariel: I'll swim up to his castle. Then Flounder will splash around to get his
  346. attention, and then with -
  347. Sebastian: Down HERE is your home! Ariel - listen to me. The human world -
  348. it's a mess. Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there.
  349. The seaweed is always greener
  350. In somebody else's lake
  351. You dream about going up there
  352. But that is a big mistake
  353. Just look at the world around you
  354. Right here on the ocean floor
  355. Such wonderful things surround you
  356. What more is you lookin' for?
  357. Under the sea
  358. Under the sea
  359. Darling it's better
  360. Down where it's wetter
  361. Take it from me
  362. Up on the shore they work all day
  363. Out in the sun they slave away
  364. While we devotin'
  365. Full time to floatin'
  366. Under the sea
  367. Down here all the fish is happy
  368. As off through the waves they roll
  369. The fish on the land ain't happy
  370. They sad 'cause they in their bowl
  371. But fish in the bowl is lucky
  372. They in for a worser fate
  373. One day when the boss get hungry
  374. Guess who's gon' be on the plate
  375. Under the sea
  376. Under the sea
  377. Nobody beat us
  378. Fry us and eat us
  379. In fricassee
  380. We what the land folks loves to cook
  381. Under the sea we off the hook
  382. We got no troubles

  384. Under the sea
  385. Under the sea
  386. Since life is sweet here

  390. They get the urge 'n' start to play
  391. We got the spirit
  392. You got to hear it

  394. The newt play the flute
  395. The carp play the harp
  396. The plaice play the bass
  397. And they soundin' sharp
  398. The bass play the brass
  399. The chub play the tub
  400. The fluke is the duke of soul
  401. (Yeah)
  402. The ray he can play
  403. The lings on the strings
  404. The trout rockin' out
  405. The blackfish she sings
  406. The smelt and the sprat

  408. An' oh that blowfish blow
  409. Under the sea
  410. Under the sea
  411. When the sardine
  412. Begin the beguine
  413. It's music to me
  414. What do they got? A lot of sand
  415. We got a hot crustacean band
  416. Each little clam here
  417. know how to jam here
  418. Under the sea
  419. Each little slug here
  420. Cuttin' a rug here
  421. Under the sea
  422. Each little snail here
  423. Know how to wail here
  424. That's why it's hotter
  425. Under the water
  426. Ya we in luck here
  427. Down in the muck here
  428. Under the sea
  429. (They discover that Ariel has left with Flounder.)
  430. Ariel? Ariel? Oh . . . somebody's got to nail that girl's fins to the floor.
  431. Seahorse: Sebastian! Sebastian, I've been looking all over for you. I've got
  432. an urgent message from the sea king.
  433. Sebastian: The sea king?
  434. Seahorse: He wants to see you right away - something about Ariel.
  435. Sebastian: He knows!
  436. (In palace throne room. Triton looking at flower.)
  437. Triton: Let's see, now. . . . Oh, who could the lucky merman be? (Notices
  438. Sebastian.) Come in, Sebastian.
  439. Sebastian: (Sotto) I mustn't overreact. I must remain calm. (Five octaves
  440. higher than normal) Yes - (loco) yes, Your Majesty.
  441. Triton: Now, Sebastian, I'm concerned about Ariel. Have you noticed she's been
  442. acting peculiar lately?
  443. Sebastian: Peculiar?
  444. Triton: You know, moaning about, daydreaming, singing to herself. . . . You
  445. haven't noticed, hmm?
  446. Sebastian: Oh - well, I -
  447. Triton: Sebastian. . . .
  448. Sebastian: Hmmm?
  449. Triton: I know you've been keeping something from me. . . .
  450. Sebastian: Keeping . . . something?
  451. Triton: About Ariel?
  452. Sebastian: Ariel . . . ?
  453. Triton: In love?
  454. Sebastian: I tried to stop her, sir. She wouldn't listen. I told her to stay
  455. away from humans - they are bad, they are trouble, they -
  456. Triton: Humans? WHAT ABOUT HUMANS?
  457. Sebastian: Humans? Ho ho ho ho. . . . Who said anything about humans?
  458. (Fade to Ariel and Flounder entering cave.)
  459. Ariel: Flounder, why can't you just tell me what this is all about?
  460. Flounder: You'll see. It's a suprise.
  461. Ariel: (Sees statue of Eric.) Oh, Flounder- Flounder you're the best! it looks
  462. just like him. It even has his eyes. "Why, Eric, run away with you? This
  463. is all so - so sudden. . . . (Turns around and sees Triton.) Daddy! . . .
  464. Triton: I consider myself a reasonable merman. I set certain rules, and I
  465. expect those rules to be obeyed.
  466. Ariel: But Daddy!-
  467. Triton: Is it true you rescued a human from drowing?
  468. Ariel: Daddy, I had to-
  469. Triton: Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly for-
  470. bidden. Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that!
  471. Ariel: He would have died-
  472. Triton: One less human to worry about!
  473. Ariel: You don't even know him.
  474. Triton: Know him? I don't have to know him. They're all the same. Spineless,
  475. savage, harpooning, fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling-
  476. Ariel: Daddy, I love him!
  477. Triton: No . . . Have you lost your senses completely? He's a human, you're
  478. a mermaid!
  479. Ariel: I don't care.
  480. Triton: So help me Ariel, I am going to get through to you. And if this is the
  481. only way, so be it. (Begins to blast the artifacts with his trident.)
  482. Ariel: Daddy!. . . No . . . No, please- Daddy, stop!. . . Daddy, Nooo!!. . .
  483. (He blasts statue. Ariel begins crying and he leaves, ashamed.)
  484. Sebastian: Ariel, I . . .
  485. Ariel: (Still crying.) Just go away. (He leaves and Flotsan and Jetsam appear.)
  486. Flotsam: Poor child.
  487. Jetsam: Poor, sweet child.
  488. Flotsam: She has a very serious problem
  489. Jetsam: If only there were something we could do.
  490. Flotsam: But there is something.
  491. Ariel: Who - who are you?
  492. Jetsam: Don't be scared.
  493. Flotsam: We represent someone who can help you.
  494. Jetsam: Someone who could make all your dreams come true.
  495. Flotsam and Jetsam: Just imagine -
  496. Jetsam: You and your prince -
  497. Flotsam and Jetsam: Together, forever. . . .
  498. Ariel: I don't understand.
  499. Jetsam: Ursula has great powers
  500. Ariel: The sea witch? Why, that's - I couldn't possibly - no! Get out of
  501. here! Leave me alone!
  502. Flotsam: Suit yourself.
  503. Jetsam: It was only a suggestion.
  504. [Jetsam flicks the statue's broken face towards Ariel.]
  505. Ariel: [Looking at the face] Wait.
  506. Flotsam and Jetsam: Yeeeeeeeeeess?
  507. (Cut to outside of cave with Flounder and Sebastian.)
  508. Flounder: (snif) Poor Ariel.
  509. Sebastian: I didn't mean to tell, it was an accident. (Ariel passes by.)
  510. Ariel - where are you going? Ariel, what are you doing here with this
  511. riff-raff?
  512. riel: I'm going to see Ursula.
  513. Sebastian: Ariel, no! No, she's a demon, she's a monster!
  514. Ariel: Why don't you go tell my father? You're good at that.
  515. Sebastian: But . . . But, I . . . (To Flounder.) Come on. (They travel towards
  516. Ursula's cavern.)
  517. Flotsam and Jetsam: This way. (Ariel enters and is hung up in the garden of
  518. souls.)
  519. Ursula: Come in. Come in, my child. We mustn't lurk in doorways - it's rude.
  520. One MIGHT question your upbringing. . . . Now, then. You're here because
  521. you have a thing for this human. This, er, prince fellow. Not that I blame
  522. you - he is quite a catch, isn't he? Well, angel fish, the solution to your
  523. problem is simple. The only way to get what you want - is to become a human
  524. yourself.
  525. Ariel: Can you DO that?
  526. Ursula: My dear, sweet child. That's what I do - it's what I live for. To help
  527. unfortunate merfolk - like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to.
  528. I admit that in the past I've been a nasty
  529. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch
  530. But you'll find that nowadays
  531. I've mended all my ways
  532. Repented, seen the light and made a switch
  533. True? Yes
  534. And I fortunately know a little magic
  535. It's a talent that I always have possessed
  536. And here lately, please don't laugh
  537. I use it on behalf
  538. Of the miserable, lonely and depressed
  539. (Pathetic)
  540. Poor unfortunate souls
  541. In pain
  542. In need
  543. This one longing to be thinner
  544. That one wants to get the girl
  545. And do I help them?
  546. Yes, indeed
  547. Those poor unfortunate souls
  548. So sad
  549. So true
  550. They come flocking to my cauldron
  551. Crying, "Spells, Ursula please!"
  552. And I help them?
  553. Yes, I do
  554. Now it's happened once or twice
  555. Someone couldn't pay the price
  556. And I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals
  557. Yes, I've had the odd complaint
  558. But on the whole I've been a saint
  559. To those poor unfortunate souls
  560. Now, here's the deal. I will make you a potion that will turn you into
  561. a human for three days. Got that? Three days. Now listen, this is import-
  562. ant. Before the sun sets on the third day, you've got to get dear ol'
  563. princey to fall in love with you. That is, he's got to kiss you. Not just
  564. any kiss - the kiss of true love. If he does kiss you before the sun sets on
  565. the third day, you'll remain human, permanently, but - if he doesn't, you
  566. turn back into a mermaid, and - you belong to me.
  567. Sebastian: No Ariel! (He is silenced by Flotsam and Jetsam.)
  568. Ursula: Have we got a deal?
  569. Ariel: If I become human, I'll never be with my father or sisters again.
  570. Ursula: That's right. . . . But - you'll have your man. Life's full of tough
  571. choices, innit? Oh - and there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the
  572. subject of payment. You can't get something for nothing, you know.
  573. Ariel: But I don't have any -
  574. Ursula: I'm not asking much. Just a token, really, a trifle. You'll never even
  575. miss it. What I want from you is . . . your voice.
  576. Ariel: My voice?
  577. Ursula: You've got it, sweetcakes. No more talking, singing, zip.
  578. Ariel: But without my voice, how can I -
  579. Ursula: You'll have your looks! Your pretty face! And don't underestimate the
  580. importance of body language! Ha!
  581. The men up there don't like a lot of blabber
  582. They think a girl who gossips is a bore
  583. Yes, on land it's much preferred
  584. For ladies not to say a word
  585. And after all, dear, what is idle prattle for?
  586. Come on, they're not all that impressed with conversation
  587. True gentlemen avoid it when they can
  588. But they dote and swoon and fawn
  589. On a lady who's withdrawn
  590. It's she who holds her tongue who gets her man
  591. Come on, you poor unfortunate soul
  592. Go ahead!
  593. Make your choice!
  594. I'm a very busy woman
  595. And I haven't got all day
  596. It won't cost much
  597. Just your voice!
  598. You poor unfortunate soul
  599. It's sad
  600. But true
  601. If you want to cross a bridge, my sweet
  602. You've got to pay the toll
  603. Take a gulp and take a breath
  604. And go ahead and sign the scroll!
  605. Flotsam, Jetsam, now I've got her, boys
  606. The boss is on a roll
  607. This poor unfortunate soul.
  608. (Ariel signs contract.)
  609. Paluga, sarruga, come winds of the Caspian Sea.
  610. Now rings us glossitis and max laryngitis,
  611. La voce to me!
  612. Now . . . sing!
  613. Ariel: (Sings.)
  614. Ursula: Keep singing! (Giant magical hands rip out Ariel's voice and give it to
  615. Ursula. She laughs as Ariel is changed into a human and rushed to the surf-
  616. ace by Flounder and Sebastian.)
  617. (Fade to beach. Eric and Max are walking near castle.)
  618. Eric: (Playing flute.) That voice. I can't get it out of my head. I've looked
  619. everywhere, Max - where could she be? (On other side of rocks Ariel is
  620. washed up. Sebastian and Flounder are exausted. Ariel sees her legs and is
  621. amazed.)
  622. Scuttle: Well, look at what the catfish dragged in! Look at ya! Look at ya!
  623. There's something different. Don't tell me - I got it. It's your hairdo,
  624. right? You've been using the dinglehopper, right? No? No huh, well let me
  625. see. New . . . seashells? No new seashells. I gotta admit I can't put my
  626. foot on it right now, but if I just stand here long enough I know that I'll -
  627. Sebastian: SHE'S GOT LEGS, YOU IDIOT! She traded her voice to the sea witch
  628. and got legs. Jeez, man . . .
  629. Scuttle: I knew that.
  630. Flounder: Ariel's been turned into a human. She's gotta make the prince fall in
  631. love with her, and he's gotta ki- he's gotta kiss her. (Ariel tries to get
  632. up.)
  633. Sebastian: And she's only got three days. Just look at her. On legs. On human
  634. legs! My nerves are shot. This is a catastrophe! What would her father say?
  635. I'll tell you what her father'd say, he'd say he's gonna kill himself a crab,
  636. that's what her father'd say! I'm gonna march meself straight home right now
  637. and tell him just like I shoulda done de minute- (Ariel grabs him.) . . . and
  638. don't you shake your head at me, young lady. Maybe there's still time. If
  639. we could get that witch to give you back your voice, you could go home with
  640. all the normal fish, and just be . . . just be . . . just be miserable for
  641. the rest of your life. All right, all right. I'll try to help you find that
  642. prince. Boy. What a soft-shell I'm turning out to be.
  643. Scuttle: Now, Ariel, I'm tellin' ya, if you wanna be a human the first thing
  644. you gotta do is dress like one. Now lemme see.
  645. (Cut to Eric and Max. Max smells Ariel and gets excited.)
  646. Eric: Max? Huh . . . what, Max!
  647. Scuttle: (Whistles.) Ya look great kid. Ya look - sensational. (They hear Max.
  648. He arrives and chases Ariel up on a rock.)
  649. Eric: Max . . . Max - Quiet Max! What's gotten into you fella? (Sees Ariel.)
  650. Oh . . . Oh, I see. Are you O.K., miss? I'm sorry if this knucklehead
  651. scared you. He's harmless, really - . . . you . . . seem very familiar . . .
  652. to me. Have we met? We have met? I knew it! You're the one - the one I've
  653. been looking for! What's your name? (Ariel mouths "Ariel" but no words come
  654. out.) What's wrong? What is it? You can't speak? (Ariel shakes her head.)
  655. Oh. Then you couldn't be who I thought. (Ariel and Max look frustrated. She
  656. tries pantomime.) What is it? You're hurt? No, No . . . You need help.
  657. (She falls into him.) Whoa, whoa, careful - careful - easy. Gee, you must
  658. have really been through something. Don't worry, I'll help you. Come on . . .
  659. Come on, you'll be okay.
  660. (Fade to Ariel in bath playing with bubbles.)
  661. Carlotta: Washed up from a shipwreck. Oh, the poor thing. We'll have you
  662. feeling better in no time. [Picks up Ariel's "dress"] I'll just - I'll just
  663. get this washed for you.
  664. (Cut to Sebastian in dress getting washed.)
  665. Woman 1: Well you must have at least heard about this girl.
  666. Woman 2: Well, Gretchen says . . . (Sebastian is dunked.) . . . since when has
  667. Gretchen got anything right. I mean really, this girl shows up in rags and
  668. doesn't speak-
  669. Sebastian: Madame, please ! . . .
  670. Woman 2: . . . not my idea of a princess. If Eric's looking for a girl, I know
  671. a couple of highly available ones right here . . . (Sebastian dives into
  672. kitchen and sees various fish cooking. He faints.)
  673. (Cut to castle dining room.)
  674. Grimsby: Oh, Eric, be reasonable. Nice young ladies just don't - swim around
  675. rescuing people in the middle of the ocean and then - flutter off into
  676. oblivion, like some -
  677. Eric: I'm tellin' you, Grim, she was REAL! I'm gonna find that girl - and I'm
  678. gonna marry her.
  679. Carlotta: Ha Ha. Come on honey. Don't be shy. (Ariel enteres in a beautiful
  680. dress.)
  681. Grimsby: Oh, Eric, isn't she a vision?
  682. Eric: You look - wonderful.
  683. Grimsby: Come come come, you must be famished. Let me help you my dear. There
  684. we go - ah - quite comfy? Uh. It's - It's not ofen that we have such a lovely
  685. dinner guest, eh Eric? (Ariel starts combing hair with a fork. They look
  686. dumbfounded and she is embarrased. She sees pipe and brightens.) Uh, do you
  687. like it? It is rather - fine . . . (She blows its contents into his face.
  688. Eric laughs.)
  689. Carlotta: Oh, my!
  690. Eric: Ahem, so sorry Grim.
  691. Carlotta: Why, Eric, that's the first time I've seen you smile in weeks.
  692. Grimsby: (Wiping his face.) Oh, very amusing. Carlotta, my dear, what's for
  693. dinner?
  694. Carlotta: Oooh, you're gonna love it. Chef's been fixing his specialty,
  695. stuffed crab.
  696. (Cut to Sebastian watching Louis cook. He is humming to himself.)
  697. Louis:
  698. Les poissons
  699. Les poissons
  700. How I love les poissons
  701. Love to chop
  702. And to serve little fish
  703. First I cut off their heads
  704. Then I pull out the bones
  705. Ah mais oui
  706. Ca c'est toujours delish
  707. Les poissons
  708. Les poissons
  709. Hee hee hee
  710. Hah hah hah
  711. With the cleaver I hack them in two
  712. I pull out what's inside
  713. And I serve it up fried
  714. God, I love little fishes
  715. Don't you?
  716. Here's something for tempting the palate
  717. Prepared in the classic technique
  718. First you pound the fish flat with a mallet
  719. Then you slash through the skin
  720. Give the belly a slice
  721. Then you rub some salt in
  722. 'Cause that makes it taste nice
  723. Zut alors, I have missed one!
  724. Sacre bleu
  725. What is this?
  726. How on earth could I miss
  727. Such a sweet little succulent crab?
  728. Quel dommage
  729. What a loss
  730. Here we go in the sauce
  731. Now some flour, I think
  732. Just a dab
  733. Now I stuff you with bread
  734. It don't hurt 'cause you're dead
  735. And you're certainly lucky you are
  736. 'Cause it's gonna be hot
  737. In my big silver pot
  738. Toodle loo mon poisson
  739. Au revoir!
  740. (Sebastian hops back and Louis grabs him again.) What is this? (Sebastian
  741. pinches his nose and a battle ensues. Louis knocks over a large cabinet.)
  742. (Cut to dining room. Huge crash is heard.)
  743. Carlotta: I think I'd better go see what Louis is up to.
  744. (Back to kitchen. Louis is trashing the place.)
  745. Louis: Come out you little pipsqueak and fight like a man!
  746. Carlotta: Louis! What are you doing?
  747. Louis: Well - I - I was just - er, er, I'm sorry, madame.
  748. (Cut back to dining room.)
  749. Grimsby: You know, Eric, perhaps our young guest might enjoy seeing some of the
  750. sights of the kingdom. Something in the way of a tour?
  751. Eric: I'm sorry, Grim, what was that?
  752. Grimsby: You can't spend all your time moping about, you need to get out. Do
  753. something, have a life. (Grimsby lifts his plate's cover to reveal Sebastian
  754. cowering in the salad.) Get your mind off -
  755. Eric: Easy, Grim, Easy. (Ariel lifts her own plate cover and signals for
  756. Sebastian to hide there. Sebastian rushes across while no one is looking.)
  757. It's not a bad idea. If she's interested. Well - whaddaya say? Would you
  758. like to join me on a tour of my kingdom tomorrow?
  759. (Ariel nods vigorously, leaning heavily on her plate's cover.)
  760. Grimsby: Wonderful, now let's eat, before this crab wanders off my plate.
  761. (Fade to Ariel watching Eric and Max from balcony.)
  762. Eric: Come here boy! . . . Arrr . . . (He sees Ariel and waves. She is emb-
  763. arassed and goes back inside.)
  764. Sebastian: This has got to be, without a doubt, the single most humiliating day
  765. of my life. I hope you appreciate what I go through for you, young lady.
  766. Now - we got to make a plan to get that boy to kiss you. Tomorrow, when he
  767. takes you for that ride, you gotta look your best. You gotta bat your eyes -
  768. like this. You gotta pucker up your lips - like this. (He sees she is
  769. asleep.) Hm. You are hopeless child. You know dat? Completely hopeless . . .
  770. (Fade to undersea palace. Seahorse swims up to Triton.)
  771. Triton: Any sign of them?
  772. Seahorse: No, Your Majesty. We've searched everywhere. We've found no trace
  773. of your daughter - or Sebastian.
  774. Triton: Well, keep looking. Leave no shell unturned, no coral unexplored. Let
  775. no one in this kingdom sleep until she's safe at home.
  776. Seahorse: Yes sire. (He leaves.)
  777. Triton: Oh, what have I done? What have I done?
  778. (Morning at castle. Ariel and Eric leave for their tour. Ariel is amazed
  779. by everything.)
  780. Flounder: (As they pass water.) Has he kissed her yet?
  781. Sebastian: Not yet.
  782. Flounder: Ohh . . . (Ariel and Eric go dancing and see the town.)
  783. Scuttle: Yo, Flounder! Any kissing?
  784. Flounder: No, not yet.
  785. Scuttle: Hmm. Well they - they better get crackin'. (They leave town and Ariel
  786. drives, almost crashing. They end up rowing on a still lagoon in the even-
  787. ing.)
  788. Flounder: Move over - move your big feathers. I can't see a thing.
  789. Scuttle: Nothing is happening. . . . Only one day left, and that boy ain't
  790. puckered up once. O.K. All right, this calls for a little vocal romantic
  791. stimulation. Stand back. (He flies over and sings very badly.)
  792. Eric: Wow. Somebody should find that poor animal and put it out of its misery.
  793. Sebastian: Jeez, man, I'm surrounded by amateurs! You want something done,
  794. you've got to do it yourself. First, we got to create the mood.
  795. Percussion. . . . Strings. . . . Winds. . . . Words. . . .
  796. There you see her
  797. Sitting there across the way
  798. She don't got a lot to say
  799. But there's something about her
  800. And you don't know why
  801. But you're dying to try
  802. You wanna kiss the girl
  803. Eric: Did you hear something?
  804. Sebastian:
  805. Yes, you want her
  806. Look at her, you know you do
  807. Possible she wants you too
  808. There is one way to ask her
  809. It don't take a word
  810. Not a single word
  811. Go on and kiss the girl
  812. Sha la la la la la
  813. My oh my
  814. Look like the boy too shy
  815. Ain't gonna kiss the girl
  816. Sha la la la la la
  817. Ain't that sad?
  818. Ain't it a shame?
  819. Too bad, he gonna miss the girl
  820. Eric: You know, I feel really bad not knowing your name. Heh - maybe I could
  821. guess. Is it, err, Mildred? O.K., no. How 'bout - Diana? Rachel?
  822. Sebastian: Ariel. Her name is Ariel.
  823. Eric: Ariel? Ariel? Well, that's kinda pretty. O.K. - Ariel. . .
  824. Sebastian:
  825. Now's your moment
  826. Floating in a blue lagoon
  827. Boy you better do it soon
  828. No time will be better
  829. She don't say a word
  830. And she won't say a word
  831. Until you kiss the girl
  832. Sha la la la la la
  833. Don't be scared
  834. You got the mood prepared
  835. Go on and kiss the girl
  836. Sha la la la la la
  837. Don't stop now
  838. Don't try to hide it how
  839. You want to kiss the girl
  840. Sha la la la la la
  841. Float along
  842. And listen to the song
  843. The song say kiss the girl
  844. Sha la la la la
  845. The music play
  846. Do what the music say
  847. You got to kiss the girl
  848. You've got to kiss the girl
  849. You wanna kiss the girl
  850. You've gotta kiss the girl
  851. Go on and kiss the girl
  852. (The boat tips over.)
  853. Eric: Whoa, hang on - I've gotcha. (Flotsam and Jetsam congradulate each
  854. other.)
  855. (Cut to Ursula's cavern.)
  856. Ursula: Nice work, boys. That was a close one. Too close. The little tramp!
  857. Oh, she's better than I thought. At this rate, he'll be kissing her by
  858. sunset for sure. Well, it's time Ursula took matters into her own tentacles!
  859. Triton's daughter will be mine - and then I'll make him writhe. I'll see him
  860. wriggle like a worm on a hook! (Laughing, she transforms into a human with
  861. Ariel's voice.)
  862. (Fade to castle at night. Eric is playing the flute and contemplating as
  863. Grimsby approaches.)
  864. Grimsby: Eric, if I may say, far better than any dream girl, is one of flesh
  865. and blood, one warm and caring, and right before your eyes. (He sees Ariel,
  866. sighs, and tosses away flute. He is distracted by Ursula/Vanessa singing with
  867. Ariel's voice and is placed under her spell.)
  868. (Scuttle flying toward castle in morning.)
  869. Scuttle: Ariel! Ariel, wake up! Wake up! I just heard the news. Congratula-
  870. tions, kiddo, we did it!
  871. Sebastian: What is this idiot babbling about?
  872. Scuttle: Right - as if you two didn't know, uh? The whole town's buzzin' about
  873. the prince gettin' himself hitched this afternoon! You know, he's getting
  874. married! You silly sidewalker! I just wanted to wish you luck. I'll catch
  875. you later, I wouldn't miss it! (Ariel brightens and runs downstairs, only to
  876. see Eric and Vanessa together.)
  877. Grimsby: Well, uh - err, Eric. I-it appears that I was mistaken. This mystery
  878. maiden of yours does - in fact exist. And - and she is lovely. Congratula-
  879. tions, my dear.
  880. Eric: We wish to be married as soon as possible.
  881. Grimsby: Oh, yes - of course, Eric, but, er - but these things do take time,
  882. you know. . . .
  883. Eric: This afternoon, Grimsby. The wedding ship departs at sunset.
  884. Grimsby: Oh, oh - very well, Eric - as you wish. (Ariel runs off crying.)
  885. (Cut to late afternoon as wedding ship starts to leave. Ariel on pier
  886. crying bitterly as Sebastian and Flounder look on.)
  887. (Cut to Scuttle flying and humming to himself.)
  888. Vanessa: What a lovely little bride I'll make, my dear I'll look divine
  889. Things are working out according to my ultimate design
  890. Soon I'll have that little mermaid and the ocean will be mine!
  891. Scuttle: (Seeing real Ursula in mirror.) The sea witch! Oh no . . . She's-
  892. I gotta. . . (Runs into side of ship. Flies off to find Ariel.) Ariel!
  893. Ariel! Ariel. I was flying, I wa - of course I was flying - An' - I s- I
  894. saw that the watch - the witch was watchin' a mirror, and she was singin'
  895. with a stolen set o' pipes! Do you hear what I'm tellin' you? THE PRINCE
  896. IS MARRYING THE SEA WITCH IN DISGUISE!
  897. Sebastian: Are you sure about this?
  898. Scuttle: Have I ever been wrong? I mean when it's important!
  899. Flounder: What are we gonna do!? (Ariel hears Ursula's voice in her head as the
  900. sun drops.)
  901. Ursula: . . . Before the sun sets on the third day. . . . (Ariel jumps in water
  902. but can't swim well. Sebastian sends down some barrels.)
  903. Sebastian: Ariel, grab on to that. Flounder, get her to that boat as fast as
  904. your fins can carry you!
  905. Flounder: I'll try.
  906. Sebastian: I've gotta get to the sea king. He must know about this.
  907. Scuttle: What - What about me? What about ME?
  908. Sebastian: You - find a way to STALL THAT WEDDING!
  909. Scuttle: Stall the wedding. Wh- what am I - what - that's it! (He flies off to
  910. rally the animals and fish.) Move it, let's go, we got an emergency here!
  911. (Cut to wedding in progress. Max growls at Vanessa but she kicks him.)
  912. Priest: Dearly beloved . . . (Flounder is pulling Ariel toward ship.)
  913. Flounder: Don't worry Ariel. ugh - we - we're gonna make it. We're almost
  914. there.
  915. Priest: Yes, um, do you Eric, take Vanessa, to be your lawfully wedded wife,
  916. for as long as you both shall live?
  917. Eric: (Under spell.) I do.
  918. Priest: Eh, and do you . . . (Birds and animals swoop in for attack, causing
  919. great chaos.) . . . then by the power inves-
  920. Vanessa: Get away from me you slimy little- Oh, why you little- (In the
  921. struggle, the shell holding Ariel's voice it broken and it goes back to her.
  922. Eric comes out of the spell as she sings.)
  923. Eric: Ariel?
  924. Ariel: Eric.
  925. Eric: You - you can talk. You're the one.
  926. Vanessa: Eric, get away from her!
  927. Eric: It - it was you all the time.
  928. Ariel: Oh, Eric, I - I wanted to tell you.
  929. Vanessa: ERIC NO! (The sun sets and Ariel becomes a mermaid.)
  930. Ursula: You're too late! You're too late! So long, loverboy.
  931. Eric: Ariel! (Ursula and Ariel go overboard.)
  932. Ursula: Poor little princess - it's not you I'm after. I've a much bigger fish
  933. to -
  934. Triton: Ursula, stop!
  935. Ursula: Why, King Triton! Ha ha ha - How ARE you?
  936. Triton: Let her go.
  937. Ursula: Not a chance, Triton! She's mine now. We made a deal.
  938. Ariel: Daddy, I'm sorry! I - I - I didn't mean to. I didn't know -
  939. (Triton attacks the contract with a fierce blast from his trident, to no
  940. avail.)
  941. Ursula: You see? The contract's legal, binding and completely unbreakable -
  942. even for YOU. Of course, I always was a girl with an eye for a bargain.
  943. The daughter of the great sea king is a very precious commodity. But - I
  944. might be willing to make an exchange for someone even better. . . .
  945. (Cut to Eric rowing away from ship.)
  946. Grimsby: Eric! What are you doing?
  947. Eric: Grim, I lost her once. I'm not going to lose her again.
  948. (Back to Ursula and Triton.)
  949. Ursula: Now! Do we have a deal? (Triton signs contract.) Ha! It's done then.
  950. (Ariel is released and Triton is withered as Ursula laughs.)
  951. Ariel: No . . . Oh, No!
  952. Sebastian: Oh, your majesty . . .
  953. Ariel: Daddy? . . .
  954. Ursula: (Picks up crown.) At last, it's mine. Ho, Ho . . .
  955. Ariel: You - You monster!
  956. Ursula: Don't fool with me you little brat! Contract or no- AAAAHH! (She is hit
  957. with a harpoon thrown by Eric.) Why you little troll!
  958. Ariel: Eric! Eric look out!
  959. Ursula: After him! (Flotsam and Jetsam attack.)
  960. Sebastian: Come on! . . .
  961. Ursula: Say goodbye to your sweetheart. (Ariel makes her miss Eric and blast
  962. Flotsam and Jetsam.) Babies! My poor, little poopsies!
  963. (On surface as Ursula grows beneath.)
  964. Ariel: Eric, you've got to get away from here.
  965. Eric: No, I won't leave you.
  966. Ursula: (Now very large.) You pitiful, insignificant, fool!
  967. Eric: Look out!
  968. Ursula: Now I am the ruler of all the ocean! The waves obey my every whim!
  969. The sea and all its spoils bow to my power! (She wrecks havoc, creates a
  970. whirlpool and raises some shipwrecks.)
  971. Ariel: ERIC! (He gets on board one of the ships as Ariel falls to the bottom
  972. of the whirlpool. Ursula attempts to blast her.)
  973. Ursula: (Laughing wickedly.) So much for true love! (As Ursula is about to
  974. finish Ariel, Eric steers the ship into her. She is impaled and dies most
  975. horribly. Eric collapses on the shore. The trident falls back to Triton and
  976. everything reverts to normal.)
  977. (Fade to morning with Eric on beach and Ariel watching from a distance.
  978. Triton and Sebastian look on.)
  979. Triton: She really does love him, doesn't she, Sebastian?
  980. Sebastian: Well, it's like I always say, Your Majesty. Children got to be free
  981. to lead their own lives.
  982. Triton: You - always say that? (sighs) Then I guess there's just one problem
  983. left.
  984. Sebastian: And what's that, Your Majesty?
  985. Triton: How much I'm going to miss her. (He turns her into a human and she goes
  986. to meet Eric. They kiss which fades into kiss on wedding day. Everyone is
  987. happy. Sebastian is attacked by Louis. He beats Louis up and returns to the
  988. sea.)
  989. Sebastian: Yes, Thank you, thank you. (Ariel and Triton hug.)
  990. Ariel: I love you Daddy.
  991. (Big finale while "Part of Your World" music plays. Ship sails off as
  992. Ariel and Eric kiss.)
  993. All: Now we can walk,
  994. Now we can run,
  995. Now we can stay all day in the sun.
  996. Just you and me,
  997. And I can be,
  998. Part of your world.
  999. THE END
